Rania Lateef and Samvrit Rao represented the Virginia Junior Academy of Science (VJAS) at the prestigious American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) annual conference in Boston, Massachusetts, in February 2025. As delegates, they joined top high school researchers nationwide to present their original work and engage with leading scientists.

The AJAS conference was held in conjunction with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting, whose 2025 theme, “Science Shaping Tomorrow,” emphasized interdisciplinary collaboration, equity in research, and global scientific engagement. Rania and Samvrit exemplified these ideals as they shared their innovative projects and connected with peers and mentors dedicated to advancing science for the public good.

We congratulate them on this achievement and thank VJAS for continuing to nurture the next generation of scientific leaders.
