The Fellows of the Virginia Academy of Science are active members of the Academy who have been selected for their scholarly accomplishments and outstanding service to the academy. These individuals are selected, on a yearly basis, because of their contribution to science in one or more of the following ways: (a) outstanding scientific research, (b) inspirational teaching of science, (c) significant leadership in the Academy. New Fellows are presented at the yearly Annual Meeting banquet. The rules and procedures for selection of Fellows are specified in the Academy Bylaws.
