The Virginia Flora Committee shall:
- Promote the study of and publications of the flora and vegetation of Virginia.
- Sponsor symposia and conferences on the ecology, conservation, and preservation of the plant life of Virginia.
- Disseminate botanical information to all who are interested in the flora and ecology of Virginia.
- Serve as liaison between the Academy, government bodies, and institutions in matters pertaining to the plant life of Virginia.
